Dinos at PAX!

Our team has been back from Seattle for a little over a week recovering from the huge success that was Indie Megabooth at the Penny Arcade Expo (and also a couple of post PAX colds).

We had a nice little booth right in the middle of the action complete with a new 4-level build of the game exclusive to PAX. On the floor we had Ryan, Anthony, Sean, and Eitan. We also had help from a number of butt-kicking volunteers like John, Eric, Cat, and Matthew.

It was especially exciting for us as we had shown the first build of Go Home Dinosaurs a year before at PAX ‘11. It was awesome to show off what a huge difference a year could make – and it was really cool to see how much people enjoyed the new additions to the game. Our players were particularly vocal about how much they loved all the new Dino personalities and animations in game. More than a few stated that they were even on the Dinos’ side!

All in all it was a great experience getting out to Seattle, showing off the game, seeing old friends, making new friends, watching little kids freak out over the “cool Dinosaur place,” and basically selling out of Compy plushies in two days. It was exhausting, we have no idea how we are going to pull it off next year (when it is FOUR days long), but we came back with some really good feedback and some validation that we’d made some good choices in what we had so far.

In addition to thanking our volunteers and all of the great people who stopped by our booth to play – we’d also like to send a super special thanks to the folks at Intel and at Madcatz who sponsored PC’s and gear for the Indie Megabooth. They were super helpful on the floor and made it possible for a lot of us to have extra setups for people to play on.

So that’s about it. Hopefully we’ll see some of you again at PAX East early next year!
